Clean and Bright Butterflies

Spring will soon be here!!!

I loved doing this card, don't know why particularly but I did.
I had no idea what I was going to do when I started but loved the finish. Again there is a mixture of old and new. I did a bit of sponging under the butterfly and a bit of thumping on the little butterflies. It was for one of my granddaughters and she loved it.

The card size is 5x7 and I extended the polka dot embossing.

Lego Fun

Memories Of The Past

Today's card took me back to when I was young, Lego was my favourite thing for years and it carried on when I had my eldest son. He was a demon for lego and had loads. My other 2 children not so much, they played with it more when Stephen was helping them.  My nephew seems to carried on the banner and so have two of my grand daughters except they fight over the pieces all the time and it's hard to get them to  share.  There is only 12 months between them and it's like having twins.
I saw a similar card on Pinterest and decided this would be good for Jack.  Sorry I don't have the name of the person who posted it but if it's you! thank you for the inspiration, let me know who you are and I will gladly give you the credit.

I know it's an old stamp set and you can't get it anymore, but I felt it was the right one for this card along with the non SU background.

The materials used are:

Card Stock: Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Real Red
Markers: Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Real Red
Stamp Sets: Happiest Birthday Wishes (retired)
Embossing Folders: Brick Wall, Happy Birthday (cuttlebug)

Build A Birthday meets Wild About Flowers

A Touch Of Spring

When making this card it was a really miserable day and I needed to do something light an cheery.

I love Perfect Plum but very rarely use it so decided that was going to be my main colour. The wild about flowers came to mind as the one stamp in this set reminds me a of a Thistle (I'm not very good with flowers, so sorry if it's wrong). But if it's right please let me know!

Once I'd finished it I was quite pleased.  I'm also trying to use up some of my old stash so hence the ribbon.

The materials used are:

Card Stock: perfect plum, whisper white
Ink: perfect plum, wild wasabi
Stamp Sets: build a birthday, wild about flowers
Embossing Folders: softly falling
Framelits: layering ovals
Ribbon: grosgrain stitched (retired)
Accessories: wink of stella

Grateful Bunch meets Rose Wonder

For Someone Special
I am still trying to use DSP and ribbon as I have a cupboard full and don't usually tend to go for it, but one of my NEW YEAR resolutions was to try, so here goes.  It's handy to have old DSP as a lot of the main colours are not included in up to date DSP, they tend to be the new colours.
This card was made for someone I've known now for a few years and really enjoy being with so wanted a nice bright happy card, as she brightens my life up when I see her.

The materials used are:
Card Stock: pear pizzazz, pool party, whisper white
Card Base: NSU
DSP: frosty white (retired), sycamore street (retired)
Ink: pool party, rich razzleberry, tangerine tango, versa mark
Stamp Sets: grateful bunch, rose wonder
Embossing Powder: pool party (retired)
Punches: blossom bunch
Framelits: secret garden (retired)
Thinlits: rose garden
Ribbon: ruffled (retired)
Accessories: basic pearls

Three Cheers!!

Hip Hip Hooray

Well our eldest Grandson has a birthday again and it makes me feel really old, so far as to say, this is his last year as a teenager. But I must admit he has grown up more this year than any other which makes me so proud to say Happy Birthday Kieran.

I had no idea what I was going to do for his card this year so I just put my hand into the dies box and out popped the party pop up die and this is what I came up with, hope you like it. You could change the dsp background for a more up to date one.

The materials used are:
Card stock: emerald envy, glimmer paper (retired) Whisper white thick, whisper white
DSP: it’s my party (retired)
Stamp set: starburst sayings
Thinlits: party pop up
Punch: classic label

Accessories: rhinestones NSU

The materials used are:

Ink: sweet sugarplum
Embossing folder: elegant dots
Framelits: layering ovals

Spooky Birthday

Halloween Birthday Girl

I made this themed card for my Daughter-Inlaw this year as her birthday is 31st October. Unfortunately quite a lot of it is made with retired stock but I wanted to use the old DSP from the 13-15 catalogue because I liked the pattern.  I bought the spider webs to use as doily type backgrounds but didn't get round to using them when they were in the Catalogue so thought I try one on this card.

The materials used are:
Card Stock: Coastal Cabana (retired), Whisper White
DSP: In Colors 13-15 (retired)
Ink: Coastal Cabana (retired), VersaMark
Stamp Sets: Petite Pairs (retired)
Embossing Powder: Clear
Embossing Folders: Sparkle
Framelits: Layering Circles, Lots of Labels
Accessories:Spider Webs (retired)
