Spring is in the air

One for Two (oops)

Well this card went to two people and the story is that for once this year I'm a little  ahead of myself in making the cards i need so my niece's card was made towards the end of January and put away safely for today.

Then shock horror!!! at the very beginning of February I realised I had forgotten to make my lovely neighbour a card and it was already lunchtime. So I quickly did an insert for my niece' card (thank goodness I hadn't already put one in) and gave it to my neighbour, who loved it.  The problem was I really liked it for Ruth so straight away I made another one and put it away for her, hope she likes it too!

Happy Birthday Ruth

Big Birthdays'

Celebrating Big Occasions

Today is bright at the moment but very windy and the trees are swaying as if there's no tomorrow. So for me it's batten down the hatches as my son would say and enjoy a day at home.
Again it's a man card, sorry I've used a retired embossing folder it was the one I liked best for this project.Looking at the picture of the card now I see I missed out the black ribbon used for the separation between the top and bottom it's the stitched satin ribbon and I believe it's also retired now.
It was quite easy to make, but has a bit of a pop to it I think. Hope you like it!!!

Wetlands meets Gorgeous Grunge

Cards For Men !!!

Well today is a cloudy day here in the West Mids, and I haven't got a recent card for you so I've found one I didn't post from January.  I've been really busy doing all the cards for March over the last few days as I like to be a month in advance.

It's a very simple card and I'm sure there are many more just like it out there in the world.   But I find men are so hard to find inspiration for.  Once you've done one for their kind of interests that's it don't you think. Well my friend is a fisher man so I hope this was suitable for him and he liked it.  I send him a card both birthday and christmas but don't see him anymore so never very sure if either he or his son like the cards I send them.  I know I like the ones I get from him though.

I combined the wetlands and gorgeous grunge stamps at the bottom then used the birds from up up and away and the sentiment from Wetlands again.

The materials used are:
Card stock: shimmery white, soft suede
Ink: crumb cake, soft suede, versaMark
Embossing powder: early expresso (retired)
Stamp sets: gorgeous grunge, up up and away (retired), wetlands

Accessories: linen thread

Will be back again soon with more cards

Clean and Bright Butterflies

Spring will soon be here!!!

I loved doing this card, don't know why particularly but I did.
I had no idea what I was going to do when I started but loved the finish. Again there is a mixture of old and new. I did a bit of sponging under the butterfly and a bit of thumping on the little butterflies. It was for one of my granddaughters and she loved it.

The card size is 5x7 and I extended the polka dot embossing.

The materials used are:

Stamp sets: Birthday Banners, Papillon Potpourri
Embossing folders: Perfect Polka Dots (retired)
Punches: Bitty Butterfly

Lego Fun

Memories Of The Past

Today's card took me back to when I was young, Lego was my favourite thing for years and it carried on when I had my eldest son. He was a demon for lego and had loads. My other 2 children not so much, they played with it more when Stephen was helping them.  My nephew seems to carried on the banner and so have two of my grand daughters except they fight over the pieces all the time and it's hard to get them to  share.  There is only 12 months between them and it's like having twins.
I saw a similar card on Pinterest and decided this would be good for Jack.  Sorry I don't have the name of the person who posted it but if it's you! thank you for the inspiration, let me know who you are and I will gladly give you the credit.

I know it's an old stamp set and you can't get it anymore, but I felt it was the right one for this card along with the non SU background.

The materials used are:

Markers: Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Real Red
