Hip Hip Hooray

Brain not in Gear anymore

Today I thought I'd go away from the usual type of card for my brother in law and this is what I came up with, using DSP and the hip hip hooray thinlits die I've had sitting on my shelf  for a while now.  I don't know about you but I never like to cut into new DSP and thought it was about time I started to.  Realised when I looked at the image below I should have placed the happy birthday over to the left or cut the bottom of the word bubble off, don't you think.  Brain and dangerous is what I think at the moment.

Well off to watch the afternoon film on TV now!!! Love being retired, lots of lovely things to do

The materials used are:

Card base: NSU

Butterfly wall

Bold Butterfly meets Borderlines
It's a bright morning here in the West Midlands today and I have a nice bright card for you.
With a mixture of old and new again I created this card closely following one I found on Pinterest I think? If it's yours let me know so I can credit you with idea.  I didn't have the flowers down the wall stamp so substituted the borderlines stamp with some tiny flowers coming dow it instead.  I used my blendabilities to colour some of the pearls and added some sequin trim to finish it off.  Hope my friend liked it? I know I did when it was finished.

The materials used are:

Ink: Calypso Coral, Mossy Meadow, Versa Mark
Card stock: Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla
Card base: NSU
Stamps: Borderlines (retired), Petite Pairs, Watercolor Wings
Embossing Powder: Calypso Coral (retired)
Embossing folders: Brick Wall
Punches: Itty Bitty Shapes (retired), Large Oval, Scallop Oval
Framelits: Bold Butterfly
Thinlits: Butterflies
DVS: Botanical Gardens
Accessories: Pearls (stash), Sequin Trim Blushing Bride, Wink of Stella Clear

Soft and Simple

Simply Sweet
A dull day here in the West Midlands but I'm cosy and warm in my craft room with nothing to do all day but play. Oh what joy!!!

This is a card I made using the stamp set flowering fields from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue, you can earn this set free if you spend £45 and if you don't like this one there are plenty more to choose from.

I used my markers and then did a little blending with my Aqua painter to give the petals and leaves a bit of depth and it looks really good. I don't use DSP often enough I buy it and it just sits on my shelf looking very pretty so I decided I need to use it more often and although the one I used on this card is very old there are plenty out there that would look just as pretty.

The materials used are:
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Markers: Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi
Card stock: Shimmer
Stamps: Balloon Celebration, Flowering Fields
DSP: Cottage Wall (retired)
Accessories: Aqua Painter, Sequin Trim, Wave cutting Blade

My inspiration came from Brandy Cox, thank you for sharing Brandy

Guy Greetings

For A Great Guy
Today I'm showing a card I made for one of our neighbours he's a great guy and always has time to say hello and have a chat.  In fact if Roy goes to the shops and takes more than ten minutes I know he's bumped into Dave and will probably be well over half an hour, they could win a talk for Britain competition if there was one.

I have also had a breakthrough as this card has NO retired elements on it, well done me. I'm so glad that the woodland textured embossing folder has not been retired off after all.

The materials used are:
Ink:Crumb Cake, Early Expresso, Soft Suede
Card stock: Early Expresso, Whisper White
Stamps: Boys Will Be Boys, Gorgeous Grunge, Guy Greetings
Embossing folders: Woodland Textured
Framelits: Lots of Labels
Thinlits: Gift Card Envelope
Accessories: Candy Dots

A Little Bit of Sunshine

Spring Is In The Air

Or it was the day I made the card, here in the Midlands it's rather wet and windy today.

I was browsing the blogs I follow the other day and found a card similar to this one and just new it was what I wanted to do for a friend of mine. Again it is a mixture of old and new, the ribbon is very old as is the embossing folder but it's one I keep using and the stamp sets are bang up to date.  I used the thumping technique for the butterfly and for the leaves I stamped on the card before embossing then stamped again on a scrap piece of card stock before (yes Peg) fussy cutting them out and slightly overlapped on the original stamping.  Loved the effect.

The materials used are:
Ink: Crushed Curry, Old Olive, So Saffron
Markers: Old Olive
Card stock: Old OliveWhisper White
Stamps: Butterfly Basics, Grateful Bunch
Embossing folders: Perfect Polka Dots (retired)
Punches: Bitty Butterfly, Blossom Bunch
DSP: DSP Stack Brights (retired)
Ribbon: Taffeta So Saffron (retired)
Accessories: Basic Pearls

Butterflies Galore

Growing Up

It's sometimes hard when people request certain themes for their cards, but not so when it's butterflies. My Granddaughter wanted butterflies and lots of them so I came up with the idea of a pop up box with yes you guessed it 13 butterflies. She counted them and complained there were only 12 but one was hidden on the back panel so she was much happier.  She had a perfect day and our card took pride of place on the mantle piece.

The materials used are:
Ink: Encore Silver, Mint Macaron, So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder
Markers: Stampin Dazzle Silver, Wisteria Wonder
Card stock: Vellum, Mint Macaron, So Saffron, Window Sheets, Wisteria Wonder
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri
Embossing folders: Decorative Dots, Softly Falling
Punches: Bitty Butterfly, Elegant Butterfly
Framelits: Bold Butterfly, Bold Butterfly, Large Numbers
Thinlits: Butterflies
DSP: Perfectly Artistic (Sale-A-Bration) freebie with a £45 order
Accessories: Pearls (NSU), Wink of Stella Clear

Lazy Days

Relaxing Times

This is a blast from the past, as I'm not very good with male cards I find it hard to come up with ideas.  My friend is a keen fisherman and I always do him cards that are fishy but this time I thought I'd go slightly away from the fish theme but still incorporate water.  He's retired and has been for some time so thought he might like a laid back relaxing theme. Hope he likes it.

The materials used are:
Ink: Early Expresso, Soft Suede, Wild Wasabi
Card stock: Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi
Stamps: Moon Lake (retired), Remembering Your Birthday, Up Up and Away (retired)
